Escape From Jesus Island

Welcome to Malsum Island Research Facility, home to ReGen Corporation’s Project Savior and the setting for Act One of the Escape From Jesus Island comic book series. This is Shawn, writer of the Jesus Island stories and your tour guide for the deeply strange adventure ahead.

“What is Escape From Jesus Island? Where’s my wallet? Why am I naked?”

All good questions, one of which I will answer now. Escape From Jesus Island is our upcoming horror comic book series about an attempt to clone Jesus that goes a bit off the rails. OK, a lot. Beautifully illustrated by Mortimer Glum, our twisted retelling of the biblical prophecies in the Book of Revelation kicks off with our first monthly issue in October.

JesusIsland.com is the home for all things Jesus Island. Here you can check out character profiles, artwork galleries, sample pages, info about the main Factions, a preview of our upcoming Kickstarter campaign (launching July 28!), a 20-page promotional brochure, get your Jesus Island merchandise, plus learn about the Jesus Island team. In the coming months, we’ll also give you a look behind the scenes with more concept art and videos showing Mortimer’s process.

We’ve had a strong presence on Facebook for a while (follow us here). Many of our earliest Facebook backers will appear in the comics as thanks for their support and more than 50 fans have already been transformed into mutants by Mortimer Glum (or mutantized, the most excellent term coined in this Dread Central article).

When we launch our Kickstarter Campaign on July 28, there will be 34 more chances for fans to appear in our comics. None are boring cameos or random faces in a crowd. If you earn an appearance in our comics, you will die a horrible death and we’ll send you a signed print of your death page. You can check out a preview of our Kickstarter rewards here.

We have big plans for the Jesus Island story. In addition to the 40-issue main story arc, we’re planning special one-off issues, character figurines, a board game, masks, Jesus Island tarot deck, trading cards and a whole lot more.

I’ve been working on this story for 20 years… nearly all of my adult life. Then one day, I had the good fortune of crossing paths with the mad genius Mortimer Glum. It’s been full speed ahead ever since. Every day, I see more of this epic story unfolding on the page. I can’t wait to share it with you.
